Probably the most important job that vitamin C does is kill bacteria and virus cells in the bloodstream. Comments: I have been taking vitamin C for many years. At 73, I am training for another Chicago marathon. Thanks for the article.

Good article, I'm a firm believer in mega doses of vitamin C when ill, or even when exercising to boost the immune system.

  Same here, I drink a glass of orange juice with pulp plus vitamin C pills everyday.
