May 4, 2008, 3:50 p.m.They still fish for sturgeon and spear them - on limited basis - in norther states like Michigan and Wisconsin. They make an annual event of it on some lakes, and once a set limit has been caught/speared by all fishermen, the season ends. Season might last a couple days or a couple weeks. Some fishermen get a sturgeon while some go home empty-handed.

May 4, 2008, 4:34 p.m.That one is little bitty to one caught in China that was big enough to eat people. 8' long with a mouth that could easily swallow a full-grown adult. They stopped people swimming in the lake because they fear there are others just as large.
I have a picture of it, but no way to send it.
