It was Tuesday night when Storm jumped on the slumbering Smith and alerted him to the growing smoke and flames outside his bedroom. Smith says he grabbed his curtains, wet them for a mask and grabbed his puppy Daisy while the older dog ran ahead. It was the last time Smith saw Storm.

            Kroeger,

Well I must say that all the dogs I have ever had are brighter than you are. Carry that one to a conclusion.

I'm hoping you are actually bright enough to know what conclusion means.

Just in case you can't here is a quick tell, you are an ignorant piece of s**t.

Trying hard to live up to your stated aim, JK:"...being a pain in the ass"?

              Pretty successfully, I might add

Dogs are social creatures that adapt to humans like no other in the animal kingdom. All you have to do is love them, give them a little attention and play with them and they will love you forever. We humans can learn alot from dogs in that respect.

Daylight. Isn't it true that Muslims hate dogs almost as much as pigs?

Nice story, and the dog was faithful, noble, and smarter than some people that I know, for example, I can see the dog's probably smarter than one in here.

Right kelrose456! Owning a dog can be a very satisfying experience, being one of the few areas of life where it is guaranteed that the more you put into it, the more you will get out.

Stormie was a good girl. She did her best!

I have one discrepancy with this article ... dogs live in the moment. They don't spend time reflecting on the past. She didn't alert the guy because he rescued her from past abuses, she alerted him to an *immediate* danger. A danger happening *now*.

Amazing the way dogs have done this throughout our social history - you want to read all the amazing feats carried out by them during natural disasters, wars and events like that.

All pointing to a certain loyalty to and solidarity with humans that warms the heart.

Its very rare to find any such occurrences attributable to other animals, possibly other than dolphins.

Dogs are loyal because their needs are met by their owners.

Even then some dogs will attack the hand that feeds them.

Perhaps this dog was thinking, " I better get my owner out of this house or else I'm going to be out dinner and a home.

Goes to show that dogs could teach us humans a lot about unconditional love.

I volunteer my home as a foster home for rescued animals. I've seen all sorts of abuse. Rescued animals always know that they've been rescued and its always reflected in the love and affection they show there owners.

Dave59 I suppose you relate intelligence to being able to lick your own balls and hump'n somebodies leg. Good for you, maybe someday you'll be able to leave the group home on your own.

Dogs are not capable of understanding love , hate or any other human emotion. Treat them nice- feed them - rub their heads- you have a friend for life. Human relationships are much more complicated.

                                  No one mentions exercising?

                                  All dogs want to do is - W. A. L. K.

They LOVE walking - walk walk walk walk walk. They are migratory creatures! They are wired for walking. They would much rather go for a walk than sit around bein' pet & hugged all day, if they even get that.
